New message to Europe

The project New message to Europe describing is primarily an artistic endeavor, devoid of any political background or motivation. Its main objective is to contribute to the strengthening of democracy and freedom in Iran by providing a platform for the expression of diverse voices. The intention is to showcase the perspectives of Iranian intellectuals, academics, and cultural workers who currently reside and work within Iran.

New message to Europe aims to foster dialogue beyond political matters, focusing on freedom, democracy, and the enrichment of society. By promoting understanding, empowering marginalized voices, encouraging civic participation, and strengthening social cohesion, it seeks to create a space for inclusive conversations and the cultivation of democratic values.

To accomplish this, a series of short videos will be recorded featuring 13 prominent Iranian figures from various fields such as art, science, journalism, sports, law, politics, and the art market. These individuals will convey succinct personal messages aimed at European audiences. Additionally, each participant will provide a small personal gift related to their respective area of expertise.

The videos and accompanying gifts will be exhibited at Kunsthall 3.14 in Bergen, Norway. Visitors will have the opportunity to choose one of the gifts to take home and will receive a small personal gift in response to the interviewee's message. Subsequently, the donated gifts will be taken to Iran and given to the Iranian participants.

The installation aims to establish an unfiltered and direct dialogue between the interviewees and the Norwegian public, focusing on personal issues that often remain unnoticed within the media landscape. By facilitating this exchange, the project seeks to bridge the gap between cultures and promote mutual understanding.

Dr. Saeid Abbaspour (Writer, poet, and psychologist), Mohammad-Ali Abtahi (Theologian, politician, pro-democratic activist, and chairman of the Institute for Interreligious Dialogue; former Vice President of Iran), Dr. Poupak Azimpour Tabrizi (Ethnologist, researcher of traditional handmade Iranian dolls, and author), Pejman Chaman Araei (Fashion Designer and Founder of the brand PJ Araei), Ali Dehbashi (Iranian journalist, Iranologist, researcher, and writer. این فیلمهای کوتاه با مشارکت سیزده نفر از اندیشمندان، دانشگاهیان و شخصیتهای فرهنگی برجستهی ایران که در حوزه های زیر شهرت جهانی دارند، ضبط شده است هنر موسیقی، ادبیات، مد، معماری، علم علوم اجتماعی، روانشناسی، دین، اندیشه، روزنامهنگاری، ورزش زنان، حقوق، سیاست و بازار هنر. همهی شرکتکنندگان در ایران زندگی و کار میکنند. پس از لغو پیمان موسوم به معاملهی ایران از سوی آمریکا، گفتگو میان جهان غرب و ایران به خطر افتاده است

در این راستا، هنرمند، شهرام انتخابی با همکاری زرتشت رحیمی و سیدعلی میرمحمدی، شرکت کنندگان را ترغیب کرده اند تا هر یک پیام شخصی کوتاهی به مخاطبان اروپایی ابراز کند. افزون بر این، هر یک از شرکت کنندگان هدیهی شخصی کوچکی در زمینهی فعالیت خود اهدا میکند. این هدایا به همراه فیلمهای مصاحبه در نمایشگاهی در موزه کونست هال ۳,۱۴ در شهر برگنِ نروژ به نمایش درمیآید. در پایان نمایشگاه، بازدیدکنندگان این امکان را دارند که با تبادل یک هدیه شخصی کوچک در پاسخ به پیام مصاحبه شوندگان، یکی از هدایا را از آنها دریافت کنند. هدایای بازدید کنندگان به ایران منتقل و به شرکت کنندگان ایرانی تحویل داده خواهد شد. این نمایشگاه میکوشد گفتگویی مستقیم و بیواسطه میان مصاحبه شونده ها و مردم نروژ فراهم کند و بدینسان به مسائل شخصی که اغلب در چشمانداز رسانه ها یافت نمیشود، اشاره شود
